PREVENTION IS THE KEY FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF SKIN HEALTH

SYMPTOMS

Spider veins (also called telangiectasias) are clusters of tiny blood vessels that develop close to the surface of the skin. They are often red, blue, or purple; and they have the appearance of a spiderweb. They are commonly found on the face and legs

SPIDER VEINS

Psoriasis is thought to be an immune system problem. Triggers include infections, stress and cold. The most common symptom is a rash on the skin, but sometimes the rash involves the nails or joints.

PSORIASIS

A seborrheic keratosis is a type of skin growth. They can be unsightly, but the growths aren't harmful. However, in some cases a seborrheic keratosis can be difficult to distinguish from melanoma, a very serious type of skin cancer.

SEBORRHEIC KERATOSIS

Melasma is a patchy, dark skin pigmentation that primarily occurs between the brows, on the forehead, around the cheeks and above the upper lip. It mainly affects women who have olive or darker skins. Typically we see melasma in patients who have Asian, Indian or European backgrounds. Melasma occurs as a result of the overproduction of melanin by melanocytes (pigment cells).

MELASMA

Keloids form within scar tissue. Collagen, used in wound repair, tends to overgrow in this area, sometimes producing a lump many times larger than that of the original scar.

KELOID SCARRING

Rosacea requires medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Dr Botros combats rosacea by combining IPL multisport NDYAG treatments with medical treatment and a program of lifestyle changes and medical skin care.

ROSEACA

Port wine stains are congenital red coloured birthmarks that occur on the face and body. They can be treated with lasers which are specifically targeted to the problem.

PORT WINE STAINS

Atopic dermatitis usually develops in early childhood and is more common in people who have a family history of the condition. The main symptom is a rash that typically appears on the arms and behind the knees, but can also appear anywhere.

ECZEMA

Solar keratosis or actinic keratosis (also commonly known as sunspots) are rough, red, scaly, or crusty spots on the skin that are caused by excessive exposure to Ultraviolet Radiation (UVR) from the sun. They are more common on sun-exposed areas, such as the face, nose, ears, chest, forearms, and back of the hands.

SOLAR KERATOSIS

Treatments include surgery to remove the scar, steroid injections, or silicone sheets to flatten the scar. Smaller keloids can be treated using cryotherapy (freezing therapy using liquid nitrogen). You can also prevent keloid formation by using pressure treatment or gel pads with silicone when you are injured.

SURGICAL SCARS

Burn scarring is an unavoidable complication of burn injuries. Minor burns may heal without scarring. In severe cases, burn scarring may be permanent. Depending on the severity of the burn injury, burn scarring may also cause functional damage to the affected area.

BURNS SCARRING

Sun damage is ageing to the skin. Decolletage sun damage(pigmentation and mottled-looking skin above the chest area) is very ageing to your entire appearance, especially when wearing revealing outfits in summer or v-neck clothing.

This is non-surgical skin rejuvenation using radio-frequency energy to create a heated zone to induce collagen. It is primarily used to reduce wrinkles, improve skin texture, tighten skin, reverse sun damage, correct some pigmentation problems and help reduce acne scarring for example or those caused by trauma or burns.

SKIN REJUVENATION

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a technology used by cosmetic and medical practitioners to perform various skin treatments for aesthetic and therapeutic purposes, including hair removal, photorejuvenation (e.g. the treatment of skin pigmentation, sun damage, and thread veins) as well as to alleviate dermatologic diseases such as acne.

IPL HAIR REMOVAL

Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat blood vessels or blood vessel malformations and also those of the lymphatic system. A medicine is injected into the vessels, which makes them shrink.

SCLEROTHERAPY

Usually, these skin bumps are caused as a result of a bug bite or skin injury that stimulates fibroblast production under the skin, which causes the creation of a sore-like lesion. Dr Botros does offer services to safely remove moles and bumps.

Tattoo removal has been performed with various tools since the start of tattooing. While tattoos were once considered permanent, it is now possible to remove them with treatments, fully or partially. The "standard modality for tattoo removal" is the non-invasive removal of tattoo pigments using Q-switched lasers.

TATTOO REMOVAL

Laser hair removal is the process of hair removal by means of exposure to pulses of laser light that destroy the hair follicle. It had been performed experimentally for about twenty years before becoming commercially available in the mid-1990s.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Radio frequency skin tightening is an aesthetic technique that uses RF energy to heat tissue and stimulate subdermal collagen production in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin. The technique induces tissue remodeling and production of new collagen and elastin.

SKIN TIGHTENING-RF & ULTARFORMER

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the skin. Facial skin is mostly treated, and scarring can be improved. Chemical peels are intended to remove the outermost layers of the skin. To accomplish this task, the chosen peel solution induces a controlled injury to the skin.
