RESURFX

HOW DOES THE PROCEDURE WORK?

ResurFX is a non ablative skin resurfacing technology. It stimulates the production of new collagen and elastic fibres in the deeper layers of skin.



WHAT CAN THE PATIENT EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

After treatment, you will experience redness, swelling or, after a few days, a bronzed appearance. Most swelling will be noticeable on the first morning after treatment. Swelling usually lasts two to three days. Heat sensation can be noticeable for 1 – 3 hours following your treatment. Some patients have experienced itching and skin may feel dry, peel, or flake. You may notice a “sandpaper” texture a few days after treatment.



WHAT WILL THE PATIENT EXPERIENCE DURING THE PROCEDURE?

Physician would typically apply a topical numbing cream before treatment and use air cooling during treatment. Depending on your concerns you can expect the session to last 15-30 minutes. You may experience a warm prickling sensation but the treatment is gentle and should not feel uncomfortable.
